Student Success Statement

“It is our duty to concentrate all out influence to make popular that which is sound and good, and (to make) unpopular that which is unsound (and not good)”

Joseph smith

Reflection: I think this quote means that when you do something good you will get know for it but if you do something bad you will get in trouble for it. So, you should always choose the Right!!!!

Example: when you don’t pay your tags on time a cop can pull you over and waste your time by towing the car away but if you pay your tags you could not, so it better of doing whats right.also besides doing whats wrong you can be apart of telling and showing others what right for example drunk driving, high speed limit, anything than can harm others or your community and  just like us students we come to school to learn and prepare ourselfs for our future, our parents wants us to have a bright future, so we can become success

9. . . . don’t cram for exams. Successful students know that divided periods of study are more effective than cram sessions, and they practice it.

If there is one thing that study skills specialist agree on, it is that distributed study is better than massed, late-night, last-ditch effort known as cramming. You’ll learn more, remember more and earn a higher grade by studying in four, one hour-a-night session for Friday’s exam than studying for four hours straight on Thursday night. Short, concentrated preparatory efforts are more effective and rewarding than wasteful, inattentive, last moment marathons. Yet, so many students fall to learn this session and end up repeating it all over again until it becomes a wasteful habit. Not too clever, hah?

When you cram, you are taking a short cut, and short cuts never produce any real worthwhile results. Also, when you take shortcuts, you fell rather rotten knowing that you could have done better but didn’t. Shortcut cut you short. You can’t plant watermelons seeds and harvest fresh watermelons the next day. It takes time. cramming for a test or project and expecting to make a high score the next day is like planting watermelons seeds and expecting to harvest and eat fresh watermelon the next day. plus cramming for a test or project doesn’t help you academically. so why even do it. plan ahead, prepare ahead. give yourself plenty of days and weeks to prepare for upcoming accountability opportunities.

Student Success sTATEMENT
“WHAT’S RIGHT ISN’T always’S POPULAR. WHATS POPULAR ISNT ALWAYS RIGHT”
-        HOWARD COSELL
-        Reflection: what I think this quote means is that when you see people laughing and joking and having a good time is not always the best time to laugh and joke. But you must always remember to do what is right and just believe that you could make something to laugh and joke about, but most of the time joking around wouldn’t lead you to success.

If you act in a certain way that normally produces particular feelings, you will begin to experience those feelings. Act like you’re bored, and you’ll become bored. Act like you’re disinterested, and you’ll become disinterested. So the next time you have trouble concentrating in the classroom, “act” like an interested person: lean forward, place your feet flat on the floor, maintain eye contact with the professor, nod occasionally, take notes and ask questions. Not only will you benefit directly from your actions, your classmates and professors may also get more excited and enthusiastic/
8… talk about what they’re learning. successful students get to know something well enough that they can put it into words. talking about something, with friends or classmates, is not only good for checking whether or not you know something. it’s a proven learning tool. transferring ideas into wordsprovides the most direct path for moving knowledge from short-term to long-term   memory. You really don’t “know” materials until you can put it into words. So, next time you study, don’t do it silently. Talks about notes, problems, reading, etc. with friends, recite to a chair, organize an oral study group, pretend your teaching your peers. “Talk-learning” producers a whole host of memory trace that result in more learning.

Successful Students

5. Don’t sit in the back of the room. Successful students. Minimize classroom distraction that interferes with learning.
Students want the best seat available for their entertainment dollars, but willingly seek the worst seat for their educational dollars. Students who sit in the back cannot possibly be their professor’s teammate (see no. 4). Why do they expose themselves to the temptation of inactive classroom experience and distractions of all the people between them and their instructor? Of course, we know they chose the back of the classroom because they seek invisibility or anonymity, both of which are antithetical to efficient and effective learning. if you are trying not to be part of the class, why, then, are you wasting your time? push your hot buttons, is there something else you should be doing with your ti Successful students take notes that are understandable and organized, and review them often.

Why put something into your notes you don’t understand? Ask the questions now that are necessary to make your notes meaningful at some later time. A short review of your notes while the material is still fresh on your mind helps you to learn

Why put something into your notes you don’t understand? Ask the questions now that are necessary to make your notes meaningful at some later time. A short review of your notes while the material is still fresh on your mind helps you to learn more. the more you learn then, the less you’ll have to learn and less time it will take because you wont have to include some deciphering time, also. the whole purpose of taking notesis to use them, and use them often. the more you use them the more you improve.

Student success statement

“I know only that what is moral is what you feel good after and what is immoral is what you feel bad after.”

Ernest Hemingway

Reflection: This quote meant that you could only feel/see the good in people and things but never the bad so if you could tell the difference between the two you should always go to the good. and just never think of doing what others do because it wont be the same at the end. so always choose the right and learn from your mistakes.

Successful student
1-2
Successful students exhibit a combination of successful attitudes and behaviors as well as intellectual capacity. Successful students…..
1.          …Are responsible and active. Successful students get involved in their studies, accept responsibilities for their own education, and are active participants in it! Responsibilities mean control. It’s the difference between leading and being led. Your own efforts control your grade, you earn the glory or deserve the blame, you make the choice. Active classroom participants improves in grades without in cress in study time. You can sit there, act board, day dream, or sleep. Or, you can actively listen, think, question, and take note like someone in charge of their learning experience. Ether potion cost one class period. However, the former method will require a large degree of learning the later provides at one sitting. the choice is yours.
2.         … have educational goals. successful students have legitimate goals and are motivated by what they represent in terms of career aspirations and life desires.

ask yourself the  question: what am i doing here? why i have chosen to be sitting here now? is there aome better place i could be? what does presence here mean to me? answers to thesequestions represent your “hot buttons” and are, without a doubt, the most important factor in your success as a college student. If you’re educational goals are truly yours, not someone else's, they will motivate a vital and positive academic attitude. If you are familiar with what these hot buttons represent and refer to them often, especially when you tired of being a student, nothing can stop you; if you aren't and don't, everything can and will!

"My strength is as the strength of ten because my heart is pure"
- Alfred, Lord Tennyson

Reflection; i believe this quote means that the strength you have it comes from your heart, and you have to use that strength to brake down anything that is in front of you to keep on taking the path that leads you to success.

Study for Multiple Exam

Part 3

English, math, foreign language tips: Practice –especially foreign language. It is hard to succeed in a foreign language class if you are just showing and doing the work. But if you are in your room and look at objects and try to say them in the language you are learning it actually helps. Or if you send a simple text to a friend think about it, you can translate that to German or Spanish? These are the little things that will help.

Here are many final words of wisdom for students who get better grades in college: time management and organization are critical key factors to success in college. And never be afraid to go ask your teacher for help. They have office hours for a reson-use them!

Reflection on Tennessee walking horse
in my point of view i think it is really dumb and cruelty for people to be treating animals like Jackie McConnell did, i think he should feel a shame of himself, because animals should not be treating like trash, every living thing should be treated like they are suppost to be treated, and i just hope that whoever is causing animals suffer, or whoever is doing animal cruelty should just stop it. and hopefully jackie gets arrested or gets a big fine.

Study for Multiple Exam

Part 2

My strategy for written assignments: Everyone has their own writing styles. I generally come up with an idea and do massive amounts of research before I ever think about writing. I then organize my research then sometimes prepare an outline before actually writing. I always print out the paper and come back to it the next day and read it. That is the easiest way for me to catch my own mistakes. I have to give my eyes a break from it, and if I just wrote it I think it looks perfect. but if i look at it a day later i almost always find grammatical errors or phrases and sentences i just wan to reword.
how i succeed in team project; never assume someone is doing what they supposed to be doing. have regular meetings and have each member show their work, not just give you or the group their word for it.
